Janab Al Asfoor Saheb

Maulana Al Asfoor Saheb Qibla

He was a great Islamic scholar and philosopher. Keeping in view the importance of education, he established several schools and educational institutions in India.

These schools not only focused on traditional Islamic education but also modern education. By providing access to knowledge and learning opportunities, he played a significant role in shaping the intellectual landscape of his time and nurturing the minds of future scholars of our community.

Dr Al Asfoor was also known for his philanthropy and dedication to helping the poor and marginalized members of Indian society. He used a significant portion of his wealth to provide food, shelter, and medical care to those in need, demonstrating his commitment to social welfare and compassion for his fellow human beings not only in India but also abroad. His charitable endeavors served as a model for others and left a positive impact on the lives of many individuals.

Our esteemed patron, Professor Dr. Ali Amir Saheb, former Chairman of the Department of Community Medicine at JN Medical College, AMU, brings invaluable expertise to our initiatives. His support fuels our mission for the betterment of the community.

Professor Mirza Mohd Mohsin Saheb, former Chairman of the Department of Electrical Engineering at ZH Engineering College, AMU, serves as our President. His leadership steers our commitment to educational excellence and community development

Mr. Aslam Mehdi has served as a key figure in academic institutions, holding the crucial position of Librarian at JN Medical College. His experience extends beyond traditional library roles, contributing to the academic success of the institution through meticulous information management and valuable support to students and faculty.

Treasurer

Janab Mazhar Zaidi Saheb

Mr Mazhar Zaidi Saheb (Treasurer of HAFS)
Janab Mazhar zaidi Saheb supervised and supported HAFS with the monetary issues and audit affairs smoothly.
He is a dedicated person who made significant contribution in helping individuals, families, groups, and communities to enhance their social functioning and overall development.

He always advocated for the rights and needs of marginalized populations.
He was also President of Anjumane Wazifa Sadat where he collaborated with other NGOs and other social organisations. As a result the financial resources of the society enhanced to a great extent

Office Bearers

The following shall be the office bearers of the society:
(a) President
(b) Vice- President
(c) Treasurer
(d) Secretary

Appointment of Office Bearers

The above office bearers shall be appointed by the chief-patron on
the recommendation of the general body of the society.
The office bearers of the executive committee and general body
will be the same.

Duties and powers:

He shall preside over the meeting of the Executive Committee andthe General Body.
He shall appoints Sub-Committees or Advisiory Committees for proper implementation of the schemes and plans of the Society as and when required.
He shall authorise expenditure to be incurred for the implementation of the schemes passed by the Executive Committee.
He shall operate the Bank Account jointly with the Treasurer.
He shall dissolve the Executive Committee after every three years if considered necessary.
He shall accept or reject the application forms for membership from persons desirous to become members of the Society.
In urgent situations he may take actions on behalf of the General
Body/Executive Committee and report the same in the next meeting.

President

Qualifications

(a) He should have a firm faith in the objectives of the Society.

(b) He should be a well-educated person possessing trust-worthiness
honesty, sagacity, integrity, soundness of opinion, understanding of
affairs and power of decision.

Duties and powers:

He shall assist the President in discharging his duties and will act as the President of the Society in the absence of the President

Vice- President

Qualifications

(a) He should have a firm faith in the objectives of the society.

(b) He should be a well-educated person possessing trust-worthiness,
sagacity, integrity, soundness of opinion, understanding of affairs and
power of decision.

Duties and powers:

Responsible for maintaining the Society’s accounts.
Audits accounts semi-annually, obtaining a preserved certificate.
Operates the bank account jointly with the President.
Maintains all account books, ensures periodic checks, and President’s signatures.
Eligible for an honorarium based on workload and commitment.

Treasurer

Qualifications

(a) He should be a well-educated person.

(b) He should be a well versed in accountancy.

(c) He should be God-fearing, trustworthy, honest, sagacious, having
capacity to take sound decisions in financial matters.

Duties and powers:

Records and maintains minutes and resolutions of meetings.
Manages routine office work and administrative matters.
Handles all correspondence on behalf of the Society.
Convenes and organizes Executive Committee and General Body meetings with the President’s permission.

Secretary

Qualifications

(a) He should be a well-educated person.

(b) He should be God-fearing, trustworthy, honest, sagacious, having capacity to chalk out plans and programmes for the benefits of the
Society.
